Blending a beautifully written acoustic song with a well balanced band is nothing short of a difficult task but Justboy execute this perfectly with track ‘Better Off’. Dale Sutherland’s haunting vocals guide the listener through the song, drawing you in closer to every lyric. The fragility within his voice and words are on full display for all to hear, which is the real star of the show. The music creates a vivid back drop filled with peaks and troughs to rival even the landscape of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, supporting but never drowning the song, the feel is very much real here, a true art within it’s self. With a light hint towards Jeff Buckley and Dallas Green’s solo work ‘City and Colour’ Dale has really pushed beyond these comparisons and found his own sound. I look forward to hearing more offerings from the Scottish solo artist, Justboy.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Justboy here by the way, I also run Kid A Music.
I just have to say, the first two Black Foxxes albums really got me through some tough times and they mean a great deal to me, so this review really means a lot. Much appreciated!
