  • We aim to approve all requests within 48 hours (2 days).

  • Once you have signed up for a reviewer account and have been approved by our team, you will be sent some unique login details via email to access your account and start reviewing. To review an artist, you need to find an artist page you’d like to review, scroll to the bottom of the page and leave a review as a “Comment”.

All reviews will be sent to an admin for approval. Once approved, reviews will be scheduled for posting to our social media channels.

  • Make sure you include as much information about your musical experience as possible. This includes links to current projects, ex-projects and any other work you do that could benefit the music community. In the “Job Title” section, please include your most successful and relevant projects, as our artists will use this information to decide whether they’d like to get in touch and work together further!

  • You have 2 sets of details as a Reviewer account holder, starting with your “private” details, which are used to manage and access your reviewer profile. To reach this section, simply login to your account and you should be redirected to this page. If you aren’t, you can click your account name in the top right corner of the screen and access your details from there.

  • Once logged in, you will see the option to “Edit Public Details” in the top corner of the screen. We advise that you use your biography section to talk about your musical work experience in as much detail as possible, as it will be read by other reviewers and artists looking to collaborate further in the future. Make sure you include as many social links as possible for your projects and personal portfolios too!

  • You can “reply” to other reviews posted on artist profiles, either offering a conflicting opinion or an alternative view of someone else’s review. You also have the option to visit other reviewer profiles and by clicking the “Contact Reviewer” button, you can start a private email thread with the reviewer to talk about further collaboration!

Artists, make sure you utilise the “Contact Reviewer” button when you have a new release & send them your OTH Page links!

  • If you would like to submit an article or opinion piece, please email us at onthehousemusic.submissions@gmail.com explaining what your piece is about and we will get back to you within 48 hours.

  • Other than the heat-warming satisfaction of helping a local musician further their career & understand how the industry views them, you’ll be planting a tree through Just One Tree CIC with every review posted.

But that’s not all, we also host exclusive reviewer parties across the South West for our reviewers to network (any do some karaoke!).

Most importantly, you’ll be helping us understand which artists we should be paying attention to in the local music scene. We compile your reviews and use them to discover the most talented artists hidden away in our scene and give them a platform to succeed. The what ‘community’ is all about!

  • Once you have applied for an artist profile and your request has been accepted, you will land on a page titled “Your Account” that allows you to edit your personal account details. This section is your Personal profile and is used to log in and access your artist profiles, alongside interacting with other users on the website if you wish.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the “Claim An Artist Profile” search bar, then enter your artist name. If you had an artist page on our old website, you’ll be able to “Claim” it and start adding your information. If you don’t, you will be prompted to create a new profile.

If you are in multiple acts, you can do this as many times as you like & manage all of your artist pages from the same account!

  • Simply visit their reviewer profile by either searching their name, or clicking their profile image in the reviews section of your profile. At the top of the page, there is a “Contact Reviewer” option that will open a private email to the reviewer so you can thank them directly!

You can also reply to comments and reviews using your Personal account, which will be viewed publicly by anyone visiting your artist page.

  • One word: Interaction.

As part of the new website features, alongside having the freedom to edit your own artist profiles whenever you like, you also get given access to review and comment on other things on the website. Once logged in, you’ll be able to review other artists if you please and reply to other reviews posted by reviewers.

This, alongside acquiring the personal contact details of our reviewers via their pages will help increase your chances of being noticed and reviewed. Anyone actively supporting our community will always be taken note of and will be rewarded in some way at some point, we need an active community to really make this work!

  • Just by having an artist profile on our website, you’ll be automatically considered for future releases once you’ve been reviewed. If you’d like to send a submission for consideration, email onthehousemusic.submissions@gmail.com with the subect title “OTH Records” and we will get back to you ASAP.

  • Over on our Patreon page, we are releasing a newsletter that contains over 50+ music contacts from a selected city every month. So far, we have given out record label contacts, management, promoters, festivals, PR, agencies, instore performance locations and even places to stock your physical pressings!

We also have our Artist Support tier on our Patreon that includes the monthly newsletter, but also gives artists the option to directly message us and ask for music contacts whenever they like! Find out more by clicking the link below.

  • As we have been building this community for many years, we’ve had countless artists join the website and receive reviews. When this current website was launched, we transferred all of the old data over so we didn’t lose any old content. But this meant that old artist profiles weren’t optimised for the new layout, so they are kept in “Draft” mode until you create a new artist account & then “Claim” your old profile – ready to be edited!

  • One of the great new features about this website is its ability to cut out the fluff. Once you’ve created an artist account and one of our team has approved the request, you will be able to access the “Your Profile” section of the website to edit your details.

At the bottom of the page, you will see the “Claim An Artist Profile” option, along with a search bar. Simply type your artist name in the box and the system will check to see if you already have an old profile to claim. If you don’t, then you will be prompted to create a new Artist Profile.

You can do this as many times as you like to cover all of your musical projects. Any new reviews, replies to your comments or other interactions will all be sent to the email associated with your account – no need for multiple account and passwords anymore!
